While we are always confused about the difference between Veteran’s day and Memorial Day, we aren’t confused on how we like to celebrate that day. Staying away from the VA and other charitable visits and instead sitting on our couch watching non-stop war movies.
- Band of Brothers – Is it a TV series or movie – who cares. Any movie that can make David Schwimmer seem like a decent actor must be awesome and takes our number one pick.
- Saving Private Ryan – Besides Tom Hanks killings people, the opening landing scene alone would put this in anyone’s top 5 list.
- Patton – George C. Scott’s best movie not involving talking dolphin remains a classic. Ignore the bad special effects and revel in the glory of a general that was unstoppable in war. Fun fact – Patton died in a car crash.
- Black Hawk Down – The final battle count was 19 Americans Vs 1,000 Somalis. We still consider it a loss.
- Force 10 from Navarone – This film barely beats out Kelly’s Heroes to be included in the top 5. A little less hippy Donald Sutherland and a little more Clint Eastwood and we might have rerversed our voting.
